The Jill Todd Photographic Award has been established to support and celebrate the work of talented photographers from major Photography and Arts Degree programmes in Scotland.
The award is open to final year undergraduate students; post graduate students; Master of Arts students and photographers within three years of graduation [i.e. for this year, 2013, those who graduated in 2010]
All applicants must be from Photography or Art Degree Courses based in Scotland.
(For the avoidance of doubt “Art Degree Courses” mean degree courses substantially involving studies in visual art practice. The intent of the Award is to assist the promotion of the careers of those, falling within the defined academic categories, and who evidently intend to pursue careers in photography.)
It is hoped that this award will become an annual focus for the medium in Scotland and an opportunity to come together to see the very best of new photographic practice in Scotland. The Jill Todd Photographic Award will culminate in an annual exhibition, which, for its second year, will be held at the Street Level Photoworks in Glasgow.
